A year ago, I started a countdown that was mostly for myself. It was a sort of accountability system to ensure I did my homework before volunteering and partaking in the humble little music festival in a town I recently started calling home. But, the project grew into a little more than that. Yes, I discovered a lot of great music but I also met a lot of rad people in the process. People that love music, community, and a bit of hard work as much as I do. People that host shows at their own house, people that manage to blog about music all year long, and people that devoted their free time “behind the curtain” for the fest and didn’t even get to watch more than a handful of bands. I had a wonderful insight into the four-day music festival, NX35, and it rivals as one of the best weekends I’ve ever had.

35 Conferette’s got some big shoes to fill.
But if the initial lineup is any indication of how big the fest’s feet are this year, we are all in for a helluva ride, folks. And, trust me, the ride is much better if you get your feet wet, check out a 35C band you’ve never heard of before, make room to hit up some unofficial shows, and of course, volunteer. Don’t be scared, I’ll do my best to help you along the way, internet friends.
